The September meeting of the Sacramento Valley Chapter of the Piano Technicians' Guild was held on Tuesday 9/12/06 at Fox Piano.
In Attendance:

Last Meeting Minutes: were not read.
Officers’ Reports:
President: will not be attending the CA State Board Meeting.
Vice President: The next meeting will be held at the Music Exchange, with a performance by jazz pianist Sue Downs. Please RSVP to Jim Nelson at the Music Exchange so he can get an accurate head-count for refreshements.
The Vice President will be attending the CA State Board Meeting.
Treasurer: $15,877.28 in the checking account, around $2,800 in the CD.
Secretary: not present, no report.
Old Business:
The Budget Committee is still in formation. Please contact one of the chapter officers if you would like to be part of the committee.
Terry Miller has received the contents of the library. A permanent home for the library is still needed. There was some discussion of the creation of a Library/Properties Committee to inventory the Chapter's holdings and make recommendations for pruning or growing.
New Business:
Some older pianos and parts are available from the estate of a former technician. Terry Miller will find out what is available and report back at the October meeting.
Gene Nelson reported that PTG Headquarters is having an Associates' Seminar in Kansas City in September.
Motion: that the Chapter provide a maximum of $150 scholarship funds to any member attending that Seminar.
Moved: Scott Johnson. Seconded: Tremaine Parsons. Passed on a voice vote.

Since self interest as a driver of ethics inevitably fails, trying to maintain a balance between Consequences and Good Intentions may keep us above ethical sea level.
